Didcot cleans up!

The sun was shining and The Didcot Powerhouse team was out in force at the weekend to help make Didcot shine. Volunteer litter pickers gathered at The Didcot Wave to collect litter from the surrounding area, filling 12 rubbish bags and almost £60 was raised from the raffle thanks to Didcot Wave who donated a family swim for up to 5 people. Pick organisers Fiona Smart and Victoria Haval were delighted that there were some younger litter pickers amongst the volunteers too.

Meanwhile the team at Valerian Court raised over £300 through their car wash and cake sale, aided by the Didcot Fire Brigade who supplied water for the mammoth car clean. Valerian Court volunteers who did an amazing job of car-cleaning. It was a fantastic team effort to raise awareness of Didcot Powerhouse and funds raised will contribute towards the grant fund pot for 2025, supporting many local charity and community groups in and around Didcot.
